This exact time last year, Meg (Olivia) and I were headed off to Orlando, Florida for a weeks vacation at Hilton Grand Vacations at SeaWorld. My exams finished early that semester and I realized I had way more time off than I ever had for Christmas break. So, naturally I called my dad in Florida and planned a trip. Luckily, Meg could take the time off too so it would be a family vacation and I was SO excited!
That week we spent almost every day at the pool, and the other days were spent at Universal Studios for Grinchmas. Let me tell you, Universal knows how to celebrate Christmas. They had decorated the whole park with garland and Christmas lights, and Christmas music played non-stop throughout the park. As you walked into Universal Studios, a beautiful Christmas tree was displayed, so obviously we took tons of pictures in front of it. Also, walking into Hogsmade all decked out for Christmas is one of the most magical things I have ever experienced! I highly recommend going for that, if not anything else. They also do an amazing play of the Grinch over on the Islands of Adventure side; we enjoyed it so much we wanted to see it twice!
At night, the Macy's parade took place at the Universal Studios side of the park. It was so much fun to see all the magnificent floats and costumes they incorporated. After the parade, Mannheim Steamroller did an instrumental Christmas concert, and that is where I fell in LOVE with the song “Where Are You Christmas” from the Grinch. It was absolutely beautiful. Over at Islands of Adventure, they had a Christmas themed lights show with fireworks over the Hogwarts Castle. We stayed and watched it three times because it was so well done; you can tell we both love Harry Potter. Those Christmas filled days at Universal we’re some of the most festive days leading up to Christmas, and they got me so excited for the holidays.
We also went to Disney Springs more than a few times. They had a Christmas tree trail with trees dressed for all of the different Disney movies (The Peter Pan one is my favorite). They were stunning! I’ll post some photos of them so you can see for yourselves. The detail in them was just amazing!
I hope that you enjoyed some of our favorite memories from our Florida vacation, we would love to hear some of yours!

~ Anna
